I view the world as if I’m looking through the lens of a camera. I see photographs everywhere. I’m inspired by the simple and ordinary in our everyday lives. I see beauty in a pear and in the details of an old-fashioned door knob. Photography is my passion and I want to help people see the simple splendor that surrounds us.

My photographs can be well thought out over many days or very spontaneous. I will sometimes drive past a location several times or come up with an idea and wait many days before taking the photo. I work out the composition in my head. After a while it begins to consume me and it’s time to take the photo. Some photos are much more spontaneous. I will see a subject that speaks to me and immediately set-up my camera to photograph it.

Recently I acquired an Argus 75 film camera. I shoot through the viewfinder of the Argus 75 with my digital camera. This technique is called TTV or Through the Viewfinder which gives the photographs a vintage look. My new series with this technique focuses on the hills, vineyards and flora of Oregon’s Willamette Valley.
